The functions, duties and powers of the Distance Education Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Formulating policy regarding distance education,
(b) Formulating and implementing programs related to distance education,
(c) Making necessary arrangements for resources and means for distance education,
(d) Affiliation to educational institutions providing distance education,
(e) arranging arrangements for determining equivalency in relation to distance education,
(f) To approve the course material of distance education on the basis of the approved syllabus,
(g) Inspection and evaluation of institutions providing distance education,
(h) To arrange for studies and research in relation to providing higher education through distance education,
(J1) Arranging the necessary arrangements related to distance education exams,
(J2) To do other work related to distance education (i) Determining the remuneration for distance education courses and textbook evaluation.
